Protein Power Balls

These delicious protein power balls are the perfect snack to fuel you for a workout or to get you through to your next meal. They are quick and easy to put together and bonus, they are pretty cheap as well.





 

Ingredients

- 1/2 cup dried dates

- 1 tablespoon coco powder

- 2 cups almond meal

- 1 tablespoon ginger powder

*3 tablespoons of protein powder if desired

 

Method

  1. Cover dates in boiling water and leave to soak for around 30 minutes

  2. Mix coco powder with about 1 tablespoon of boiling water into a smooth paste

  3. Drain water from dates

  4. Blend soaked dates and coco powder paste with a hand blender or food processor

  5. Remove the date and coco mixture in a medium mixing bowl and add ginger powder

  6. Mix in almond meal. Depending on the amount fo water used in the coco paste you may need a little more almond meal. The mixture should be denser than biscuit dough.

  7. Take a large tablespoon of mixture and roll into ball.

  8. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

 

TIP: You can create an endless variety of flavour combinations, instead of ginger powder try, peppermint essence, cashew butter (or any other nut butter).
